Official New Moon Movie Poster Released!

Okay, I know we've had a lot of false alarms with New Moon movie posters over the past few months. But this one is being called "the one"...as in straight from the official New Moon publicists themselves! So I'm gonna take the risk and call it "the first official NEW MOON movie poster!" Yay! And I love it! The symbolism of Jacob standing between Edward and Bella is great!

New Moon Movie Posters - Pick your favorite!

Okay, so last week I posted what I thought was the official poster for the upcoming release of New Moon. And the only reason I thought that was because it was SO well done. It totally looked like an official studio poster (and I used to work for a movie studio!). But I was quickly made aware by a knowledgeable blog commenter that it was in fact, a fan poster. And then I was made aware by another knowledgeable blog commenter that there are tons of other cool fan-made posters out there as well. So that got me thinking...why not post some of the really good ones and have everyone pick their favorite! (And yes, I realize I'm not the first person to come up with this idea!) So I scoured the internet for (what I think are) the ten best fan made posters out there right now ("best" meaning the most professional looking and studio-worthy).

Please vote for your favorite in the poll below!

**Also, unfortunately because these posters are posted all over the web, I don't know the names of all the talented artists who created them. So if you see your poster here, please comment and tell me who you are and if you have a website so I can give credit where credit is incredibly due.

Twilight Easter Eggs...Part 3

Okay, so now that everyone has the DVD (including yours truly) and has been able to watch it on a continuous loop since Saturday morning, a bunch of newly discovered Twilight Easter Eggs have been pouring in from my blog readers. So I thought I'd create yet another addendum to my original post and the follow-up post. This one should be called: Twilight Easter Eggs: Special Blog Reader's Edition, since I did not, myself, locate any of these (although some of them are SO good, I wish I had!)

For those of you newbies, an "easter egg" is a hardly-noticeable little detail that filmmakers or authors drop into their films or books for diehard fans (or just extremely observant people) to find. I try to do it with all my books and it seems Catherine Hardwick and the creators of the Twilight movie, had just as much fun hiding these little details in the film.

So here they are...the new Twilight Easter Eggs!

1) This is one is officially my new favorite: When Bella meets the Cullens, you see an ode to Breaking Dawn behind Bella and Edward. There is a chess set with red and white pieces. - Discovered by "Bittersweetm," and "Anonymous"

2) When Bella's in the hospital, if you look at the TV, the scene you just watched in the movie is playing on the TV - Discovered by "Jo"

3) In the book there's mention of Carlisle keeping the cross from his father's church - in the movie, you SEE said cross near the stairway in the Cullen's house. - Discovered by "Sarahllujia"

4) When Edward and Bella are at the prom, you see Victoria amongst the others, just prior to their solo dance. - Discovered by "Anonymous"

5) When they are in Port Angeles, and he is staring at the guys that were going to hurt Bella, listen very closely to Edwards deep glutural growl. The same growl can be heard when he is sucking the venom out of Bella's blood in the ballet studio. - Discovered by "Renee Dean"

6) In the hospital room at the end there is a drawing of the ballet studio. - Discovered by "Emily"

7) When Bella enters the biology lab at school, there is a picture of an owl behind Edward that makes him look like an angel. - Discovered by "Anonymous" and "Renee Dean"

8) Ooh...this is a good one! The book that Bella bought in Port Angeles talked about vampires on page 135, also the same page in the Twilight book where Bella discovers the Cullens are vampires. - Discovered by "Hungrygurl"

Thanks to everyone who submitted their found easter eggs to me. If you find anymore as you're watching, please post them! And if you missed my previous posts on Twilight Easter Eggs, you can find the first one here and the second one here.

Happy Hunting, Twi-Fans.

NEW MOON Movie Poster!

The official New Moon poster has been released! And I LOVE it! Knowing Hollywood, it'll probably be changed at least once before the movie releases in November but I'm going to post it here anyway, because it's fantastic!

I hope to have my own November-release artwork ready to post in a few days (i.e. my cover art for LOVE UNDER COVER!) So stay tuned!

Addendum: It has been brought to my attention by one of my studious blog readers that this is NOT an official Summit Poster. But rather a fan-made poster. And to that, I just have to say, well done, fan! This is a really cool and professional-looking poster. And for someone who used to work in the movie business, I can say that with at least some authority. My apologies for the incorrect information.

Dakota Fanning in New Moon?

More Twilight news. Or rather, New Moon news. So here's the buzz in Hollywood...(and I know this more because I read EW.com and not because I, in fact, live 20 minutes from Hollywood. Maybe if I left my house every once in a while for more than just getting the mail, I wouldn't need a magazine to inform me about Hollywood Buzz.) But alas, I digress. The buzz is that Dakota Fanning will be meeting with Chris Weitz, the New Moon director, about playing the role of Jane, one of the Volturi vampires, in the upcoming film. Remember, she's the one who can inflict pain on you just by looking at you (kind of like mother-in-laws).

Any thoughts on this development? I think she would be good but I guess I always thought of Jane as being a bit older. I still think of Dakota Fanning as that cute little blonde girl in I Am Sam. But I'm willing to be proven wrong.

Will you stand in line to buy the Twilight DVD?

Okay, standing in line for the movie I can accept. Because you know, you want to be the first (or one of the first to see it). And because you're so absolutely bursting to see Edward on the big screen for the first time, you just don't think you can hold yourself one more day! (or maybe that was just me).

But standing in line for the DVD release? I'm not so sure about that one. You've already seen the movie (in my case, 5 times!). I assure you it hasn't changed...although Edward is going to be slightly smaller depending on the size of your flat screen. But apparently, Summit Entertainment is going to be releasing the DVD with HUGE fanfare at midnight on March 21st. So if you're not a big fan of hoards of screaming teenage girls, then stay away from any and all DVD stores at that time because they're expecting to see very large crowds of rambunctious team Edward enthusiasts.

I think I'll store up my energy for the midnight release of New Moon in November and just wait for my pre-ordered copy of Twilight to arrive in the mail. That's right. I said pre-ordered.

Although...the DVD is supposed to contain some never-before-seen extra footage. Hmmm....

Damn those bonus features always get me!

Here's the full article from E! Online in case anyone's interested

More Twilight Easter Eggs

So, I caved and saw Twilight YET AGAIN today. And being that this was my fourth viewing I was able to catch a few more easter eggs that I managed to miss the last three times. An easter egg is a hardly-noticeable little detail that filmmakers or authors drop into their films or books for diehard fans (or just extremely observant people) to find. For those of you who missed my first posting on Twilight easter eggs, be sure to check it out here.

And here are three more to add to the list.

**WARNING: TWILIGHT SPOILERS HERE!

1) Wolf picture in Bella's room - Toward the beginning of the movie, when Bella first comes home to her dad's house in Forks, she walks into her new bedroom and behind her, on the wall, next to the door, is a picture of a wolf. Total foreshadow of book 2, New Moon and the forthcoming film adaptation.

2) Vegetarian Soul mates - So this easter egg (or small detail) is unique to the movie. It is not in the book. But I noticed that in the four times Bella is seen eating (twice with her dad, once in the cafeteria, and once with Edward in the restaurant), she is eating something vegetarian. Veggie burger, spinach salad, mushroom ravioli, etc. I think the filmmakers added this detail (in the book she eats meat) to mirror Edward's so-called "Vegetarianism" (the fact that his family doesn't eat humans).

3) Sleep Disorders - Okay, this one might be a stretch. But if you look closely, when Bella is in the hospital hallway, talking to her dad about the "almost" accident (just before she sees Edward again) behind them on the wall is a hospital directory. The fourth department listed on the directory is the "Sleep Disorder" Clinic. This could be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that Edward (and all vampires) never sleep.

Okay, stay tuned. Maybe on my 5th viewing, I'll find more!

Twilight Film - Hidden Easter Eggs

(Warning: Twilight Spoiler Alert!)

So I just saw the Twilight film for the third time today (yes, I know, I'm a sad, sad case) and I've been obsessed with finding little Easter eggs that the filmmakers put in for the very observant to find. Here's what I've found so far. Please let me know if I'm missing any!

1) Okay, my favorite first. When Bella is researching online the Quileute legends that Jacob told her about on the beach, she pulls up a Google book search and then clicks on a list of places the sell the book she's looking for. Just ABOVE the bookstore she clicks on from that list it says, "Little Brown" which is the publisher of the Twilight books.

2) Stephenie Meyer makes a cameo appearance in the diner that Bella and her father are eating at. She's sitting at the counter on her laptop and the waitress delivers her a plate and says, "Here's your veggie plate, Stephenie."

3) At the end of the film, after Edward leaves Bella alone at the prom and Jacob comes to talk to her, Edward says to her, "I leave you alone for five minutes and the wolves descend." Clearly this wolves reference is a foreshadow of the sequel in which Jacob turns into a werewolf.

4) In the cafeteria, when Bella drops an apple and Edward picks it up and hands it back to her, there's a close up on the apple being offered in Edward's two pale white hands. This is a reference to the cover image of Twilight.

5) Wolf picture in Bella's room - Toward the beginning of the movie, when Bella first comes home to her dad's house in Forks, she walks into her new bedroom and behind her, on the wall, next to the door, is a picture of a wolf. Total foreshadow of book 2, New Moon and the forthcoming film adaptation.

6) Vegetarian Soul mates - So this easter egg (or small detail) is unique to the movie.

Any others? I'm dying to see if other fans found some that I missed!

Two new TWILIGHT scenes revealed...

These two exclusive sneak peeks from the upcoming release of Twilight aired during the season finale of Greek on ABC Family channel tonight. And of course, I've watched each one about ten times already (and counting...)

But it's late and time to go to sleep so I guess my date with Edward Cullen will have to be continued tomorrow. Meanwhile, I guess I'll share him...

The Final Twilight Trailer!

It's finally here! The moment I've been waiting for! The final FULL-length trailer for the TWILIGHT movie has been released!

It's most exciting thing to happen to me in a long time (okay, yes, I realize the utter and profound sadness of that statement).

So...what do we think?
